In which I write about some movies

I guess there’s something about being unemployed that brings out the movie watcher in me. Last night I saw Legally Blonde and tonight I watched The Ref. Legally Blonde was pretty much what I expected. Once or twice I chuckled, but it was fairly predictable and drab. The Ref, on the other hand, was hysterical. It was laugh-out-loud funny. I didn’t know Kevin Spacey was in it until it started, so that was a nice surprise. I really had no idea what was going to happen. I thought the writing was extraordinary. The arguments between Spacey and his wife – and Leary’s reactions to them – were brilliant. Rent this one if you haven’t seen it yet.

  1. If you haven’t seen Swimming with Sharks (Kevin Spacey, Frank Whaley, Michelle Forbes) then you should really rent it.

  2. Maggie has very good taste, so you should listen to her. “Swimming with Sharks” is almost up to the the level of “The Ref”.

  3. I’ve never seen “The Ref” but if it’s anything like “Swimming with Sharks” of if, on the off-chance, it’s better – I’m going to try to rent it tonite. “Swimming with Sharks” was FABULOUS!

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
