Documents released by the University of Alabama on Thursday concerning a recently concluded NCAA investigation into the Tide football program include a letter from Florida coach Steve Spurrier to Mike DuBose accusing the Tide coach and his staff of trying to buy off a recruit who had orally committed to the Gators.

  1. Wow. If that’s legit (and I have no reason to not trust Robbie Andreu’s reporting), then both programs look bad. Essentially, Spurrier said, “I’ll look the other way if you drop it.” But the greater violation obviously would be Bama’s.
