Today might be the day. A few months ago I was a contestant on The Weakest Link. No, not the prime-time game show with the annoying British host. The show is so ridiculously popular that NBC decided to syndicate it. There is now a daytime version with an annoying American host. The total amount you can win is much less and there are not the same number of contestants on each episode, but it’s essentially the same game. I think. I’ve only seen a few minutes of the prime-time TWL, and I haven’t been able to catch any of the daytime ones. If you’re interested in watching me on TV though, today might be the day. There is a bit of confusion about this. Last week I got a voice mail from one of the assistant producers. She told me that I was going to be on episode 006 which would air at either 3 pm or 3:30 pm (PST) on our local NBC affiliate on January 14. (Yes, they actually air the same program in consecutive time slots here.) The next day I got a voice mail from a different assistant producer. He said that I would be on episode 0006 which would air at 3 pm on January 9. It didn’t seem like he knew that the first ap had called and left a message; he wasn’t correcting an error or giving me a “follow-up” message. I guess there’s every chance that I might be on television on the 9th and the 14th.
You’ll have to check your local affiliates to see when The Weakest Link’s daytime show is airing in your area. I’ve been told that it might be on a different network in different parts of the country, so …
If you can, tape it or TiVo it for me! I’ll set a VCR to record it here, but you know how I am with technical devices and such … A backup would certainly be nice.
