Six out of seven days each week, for almost a year now, I find myself cutting through the famed NBC Studios in Burbank on my way to work. Every time I do this I am confronted with a large sign that reads Bob Hope Drive and every time my mind instinctively, reflexively shows me a snapshot of the man performing a monologue, just at the end of a punchline, with his eyebrows arching. In that split second every day I think of my grandfather serving in WWII and that he was one of the men that fought to make, “this land that I love.” Every. Time. So … thanks for the memories.
