Coca-Cola has been on sale at UF for four decades and was the only line of soft drinks available for the past six years. But soon Coke will no longer be the real thing on the University of Florida campus.
“Florida has signed an exclusive 10-year agreement with Pepsi Bottling Group in a deal that could bring more than $27 million to the university.
I can’t imagine getting a Pepsi at a Gator game. It’s sacrilegious. Who the hell wants a “Jack and Pepsi”?
That may be another indication of what I’ve feared for some time now: Florida has sold its soul to the devil. Who, in God’s name, would permit such a travesty? Surely not the governing elite, whose palate and tastebuds naturally gravitate toward the foul ooze. Communism is right around the corner kids. Dust off your fall-out shelter and stock it full of Campbell’s soup and Coca-Cola lest ye be marching lockstep with an army of naive young boys bearing the evil red, white, and blue swirl upon their backs. Jack and Pepsi, HA! I’d rather take my chances smuggling drugs into Bali.
Dude, Pepsi did the same damn thing at University of Maryland in 1998. We also had a McDonald’s on campus. As we all know, you get a freakin coke with your happy meal at McDonald’s. Well, this deal w/ Pepsi over-ruled the agreement between Coke and McDonalds so now all McDonald’s on campus had to sell Pepsi. What a gyp. I’ve boycotted Pepsi ever since.
