MusicNow that the dust has finally settled, I’m prepared to pontificate on what I consider the top five songs released in 2006. I think last year was kind of a “down year” for new music; there just weren’t that many great new tracks added to my iTunes library, especially compared to the previous two years. Normally I would post an mp3 of each one for your downloading pleasure, but lately whenever I do that my site is slammed with thousands of leeches. (If you don’t have one of songs, let me know and I’ll get it to you.)
So, without further ado …

  1. Paris HIlton? Well I never had the chance to hear the song so I guess I can’t argue…

  2. Dooode, seriously, it’s NOT a good song!!! Seriously!

  3. i’m actually with you on the paris hilton. but paul simon taking a backseat to beyonce?! obscene.

  4. This is radonkulous. The Strokes came out with a new album last year. So did Death Cab. Are you honestly saying you would rather listen to Stars are Blind?

Paris Hilton had very little to do with the song. Uber-producer Scott Storch made the song “catchy.” Paris’s label dropped her after she refused to tour. The only time she performed “live” was after a Jay Z concert where she badly mouthed her lyrics and then vomited on stage.

Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol, is one of the most beautiful songs, ever! How did that not at least get a mention. I won’t even get started about Damien Rice.

A few years ago I was trying to determine what cocktails I could make with the alcohol I had at home. I searched the App Store but couldn't find an app that would let me do that, so I built one.
