Lots of domain sellers have been charging a lot more for single word (or even common two-word combos) lately. Also, domain vendors are holding onto expired domains to resell again (or back to the original owner at a several hundred dollar penalty for a nondesirable domain). I think all these tactics add to the unavailability of good, short domains. I wonder how many are sitting on the high-priced shelves of domain sellers right now.
