On The Zanclean Megaflood

Around six million years ago, the Strait of Gibraltar snapped shut, separating the Mediterranean from the Atlantic. The Strait was blocked for so long that the entire Mediterranean Sea pretty much dried up. And then the Strait opened again, allowing the Atlantic to refill it at an astonishing rate.

Can you imagine a flood of over a hundred million cubic meters of water per second? No. You cannot.
